And what’s the easiest way to refresh your space — and your mood — now that both are bound to lift with the arrival of spring?
Of course, by picking out some new accessories and decorative items. And maybe even a few small furniture pieces if you’re really feeling it!
Accessories in interior design are the perfect way to refresh your space for spring because they’re low-commitment, high-impact, and super versatile. Here’s why they’re such a smart move.

1. Easy Seasonal Swap
You don’t have to redo your whole living room—just switch out a few accessories like throw pillows, rugs, or art. Go from wintery neutrals to light, floral, or pastel tones for an instant spring vibe.
2. Bring Nature In
Spring is all about life and freshness. Adding fresh flowers, leafy plants, or botanical prints brings that energy indoors without needing a full redesign.

3. Pop of Color Without the Paint
Not ready to repaint your walls? No problem. Accessories let you inject seasonal color (like soft yellows, mint green, or blush) in a way that’s easy to reverse later.
4. Layered Textures = Instant Warmth
Spring doesn’t just mean color—it’s also about lightness. Swap out heavy winter throws for lightweight linen, cotton, or breezy gauze textures. Even swapping candles for glass or ceramic vases can change the feel.

5. It’s Budget-Friendly
Accessories are a low-cost way to make your space feel fresh and new. No need for major renovations—just a little creativity and a few updates go a long way.
6. Reflect Light
Mirrors, glass decor, and metallic accents help bounce light around, making your space feel bigger and brighter as those spring days get longer.

New arrivals in accessories
Let’s take a look at some new arrivals for this season at some of my favourite stores for home decor.
- A Future Perfect & friends: 23 Praxitelous St., Athens. This isn’t a shop that only sells decorative items, but the ones it does have always manage to impress me. Lovely vases, mugs, and small framed art, but what truly stole my heart are the colourful trays featuring various figures and the matching coasters. Trays range from €35 to €65 depending on the size, and coaster sets (4 pieces) start at €35.

- Zara Home: A classic destination for me year-round that never disappoints. Amazing vases, lots of accessories, a mix of minimal and boho styles—you’ll definitely find something that suits you. This season, my standout pick is a gorgeous vase with a splash of green, adding a touch of color. Priced at €65.99.

- Butlers: Alongside the above, this chain always brings in lovely and practical accessories at reasonable prices. This spring, I found several things I loved, like a parrot-shaped vase (there’s something going on with this bird, as you’ll notice further down) for €29.99, fabulous striped cushions in various colours also for €29.99, and some lovely glasses starting at €6.99.

- Public: You might say, “Isn’t that a place to buy notebooks?” And yet, this chain brings in seasonal homeware accessories too—like plates, glasses, candle holders, and vases. This spring, if you want cute dessert plates with polka dots or gingham prints reminiscent of the ’60s to elevate your table setting, don’t skip a visit. Plates start at €14.99 and matching teaspoons at €6.99.

- Paraphernalia: 15 Ioannou Paparrigopoulou St., Athens. A striped ceramic collection from Portugal is our pick for this season from this beautiful store, which has a wealth of unique small furniture pieces and decorative items. These pieces will add an ethnic yet serene touch to your table or wherever else you choose to place them.

- Beauty Bar Kipseli: 8 Zakynthou St., Athens. Another concept store where you can get a manicure while shopping for clothes and home decor. This year, I’ve fallen in love with some vases—part pop art, part vintage, with stunning colours and bold designs. And while you’re picking out your vase, grab a bouquet of dried flowers from their beautiful arrangements to go with it. Vases range from €12 to €86.

- Tog & Tog: 4 Ethnikis Antistaseos St., Chalandri. I always check out the vases and fabrics in this shop. This vase-jar caught my eye in the window because I loved the colours on the little parrots that decorate it.

I don’t know which of these you’ll end up choosing, but whatever it is, it’s sure to make you feel refreshed and ready to welcome spring with a whole new vibe. Because, as we’ve said before, our home is an extension of ourselves—it should reflect who we are and our mood, and evolve along with us.
Until next time!!!
